OUR CLIMATE CRISIS / PHOTO ESSAY
In 2019, the Fridays for Future movement was growing in Canada, and climate strikes were happening in many cities across the country. Greta Thunberg visited Vancouver in October, and over 12,000 people gathered at the Art Gallery plaza to hear her. My portfolio received an IPA Honorable Mention that same year.

Itatiaia National Park was established in 1937, and it was the first of its kind in Brazil. My family used to go camping in the park well before I was born.
In 2012, while I was exploring the park myself, I pitched a story about its 75th anniversary to National Geographic, and I was offered the portfolio section of the magazine. I used black and white prints from old family albums, together with my own photos, to illustrate the passage of time.
TEXT AND CAPTIONS IN PORTUGUESE
CORE, Rio de Janeiro's special police unit, during an exercise. These photographs are part of a documentary project about my former neighbourhood in Rio.
My hometown is famous for its beaches and Bossa Nova music, but it's also notorious for its crimes and violent police enforcement.
