Itatiaia National Park was established in 1937 in Brazil. It was the first one created in the country. The park protects areas of Atlantic Forest in the mountains between Rio de Janeiro and Minas Gerais. My family explored this park since the early fifties, camping and climbing. In 2012, during its 75th anniversary, I started to document my own explorations over there. Not long after I started to visit the park, I found old family albums with black-and-white photos from past Itatiaia trips. These long-forgotten prints allowed me to connect past and present visually. Itatiaia, Brazil.
