Lagoa is one of the most beautiful areas of Rio de Janeiro. It has a unique geography, with a lagoon surrounded by Rio's famous mountains and beaches. This outdoor space has parks and restaurants that are used by millions of people. I was born and raised in Lagoa, and photographed this area for an independent photo book project. This visual documentation happened during a time of significant changes in the city. This project is about my neighbourhood. It's about me, and it's about leaving your country. Work in progress.
